Kat Murray Bodywork

Hello, my name is Kat (she/her). I'm so glad you're here! I have been working as a massage therapist in Seattle, WA since the beginning of 2022. Over the years my passion for bodywork has only deepened. I feel truly honored to be able to create safe spaces for people to rest, reconnect, and find more ease in their bodies! Whether you seek support for an injury, chronic pain, want to practice more embodiment in your life, or simply desire a pause from the pressures of daily life, I would be honored to be a part of your care.

My work is intuitively led and rooted in the belief that your body already holds the innate wisdom it needs to heal. I see massage as a collaborative practice. At the beginning of every appointment, we will check in to see what type of pain, discomfort, or feelings you are bringing in to our session. Curiosity and consent are at the foundation of my practice. Every session, no matter how many times we have worked together, will be met with curiosity to what your body is bringing to the table that day-- whether it be a new muscular, fascial tension, or a more somatic emotional experience. Our bodies hold onto daily, lifelong, and systemic pressures and those can manifest differently for everyone. My hope for our sessions is to provide a safe container for you to find ease and hopefully leave with less pain or stress than when you came in.  Maybe you are someone who appreciates minimal check-ins, or maybe you'd like verbal cues throughout the appointment, or maybe you don't know what you like yet. This is just one of the many ways we get to collaborate. Only you hold the answers to what it is like to live in your body.

I will be pulling from Swedish, deep tissue, myofascial release, neuromuscular, trigger point therapy, sports massage, gentle stretching, and breath work, all grounded in a strong understanding of muscle anatomy. The blend of these modalities alongside an intuitive approach often lend to deep relaxation and an overall release of tension and stress.  I am committed to creating a trauma-informed, inclusive, and liberational space that affirms all body types, genders, and neurotypes. My role is to listen to the energy and tissues of your body, respond with intention, and offer space for whatever is ready to shift or let go. My hope is that you leave each session feeling less tension, more grounded, and more connected to yourself. I would be so honored to be a part of your healing.

What To Expect

preparing for our appointment

When you book with me you will receive an intake form to fill out before the appointment. The form will include questions about injuries, medications, or any significant medical events or conditions that you have. These questions help me provide care that is safe for you and your body, while also helping me understand a more holistic view to you and your health history.

My style of massage therapy is performed on a massage table. After our intake conversation I will step out of the room and give you time to undress to your level of comfort – some clients wear no clothing, some prefer to keep on undergarments. It is totally up to you! While you're on the table you will be covered by a sheet at all times and I will uncover only the part of your body that I am working on. The front of your pelvis and chest will always remain draped. Your comfort and safety is my main priority and consent is foundational to everything we do. I welcome any and all feedback about your preferences and comfort while you're on the massage table.
